If it's brown it's down. Although I do have to admit, it would be pretty cool to see 12 or 13 tines on a buck.

And another thing . . who the hell can even see the tines--let alone COUNT them--on a slowly moving buck who stands 100 or 150 yards away in a narrow shooting lane at 7am in the morning twilight mist?

probably not me. And I forgot to mention it was hard enough to see through the scope given that in my excitement I had fogged it up a bit from breathing too hard. Fortunately I recovered in time to take a clear killing shot. The quote, as I recall, was Gullible with a capital "G".

It was funny, however, to observe the philosopher struggle with the cascading options, all of the cause and effect and the gory possibilities of another blendinator episode. Gotcha.

Now, if you ever actually DO kill a rabbit while stalking deer, God have mercy upon you.KGT (aka Cagey)https://www.blogger.com/profile/06763973309807575484noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19938128.post-40694994757500603162009-11-29T20:14:26.386-05:002009-11-29T20:14:26.386-05:00Righto sir Jimbo! Me hopes that tomorrow's hunt in Pennsylvania will meet with a similar outcome. If you had entered the Kuneytown Big Buck Challenge, you would be able to count at least the point I can see (it appears you can hang a ring on it, the standard)..can't see the other so well. Any other pics? Can you give us an inside spread measurement?

So, assuming this deer's antlers are wide enough to be "past the ears" and it has at least four on A/one side, its a "shooter" at Canoga Creek, just for your future edification.

What a great write-up.
