Two more days

Until the Pennsyltucky rifle opener. Driving home last night, 10 pm, 0.25 miles from the Valley of Death, my deer hunting ground. What's that in the headlights? An apparition? Phantom? Fantasy? 10 points with tines scraping tree tops. Into the Valley he slinks. I, KG and Ben will lust for his soul in the days to come.

pete, wish I could be there with you...yea, though I walk through the valley of death, I shall fear no Moby, for thy rifle and thy shells, they bring me comfort, and yea, perhaps sustenance so that I may serve thee.

maybe next year.

Saw Moby, twice, but a shot was not possible. A friend spotted him in a nearby corn field today. Keith arrives in 1 hr. Hope one of us has a chance at Moby tomorrow. Weather forecast calls for rain...

This is when the season starts there?

This is when they all close here. Today's the last day of elk season, and I didn't get mine this year.

No deer. Rained all day yesterday. Keith saw a doe. Tough hunting.

when this rain stops and it starts snowing later today, you should be out there. All deerdom is going to break loose . . .

as Rich so aptly stated-- "...and a river ran through it."

Conditions couldn't have been worse for deer hunting. Great habitat though.

Yeoman-sorry to hear that you scored no elk!

PA starts their season later than NY, which is nice if you are willing to travel a bit. The excitement of opening day of deer...twice! If you also do the northern opener in NY(Adirondacks), then you can have THREE openers which is almost just too much pleasure and excitement for one guy.
