My workplace, the "pathetic outpost of the indifference and anglocentrism"

From today's Washington Post - At U.S. Urging, Court Throws Lamberth Off Indian Case

Here's the money quote:

" (the Department of Interior is) a dinosaur -- the morally and culturally oblivious hand-me-down of a disgracefully racist and imperialist government that should have been buried a century ago, the pathetic outpost of the indifference and anglocentrism we thought we had left behind."

On the other hand, we do have a nice snack bar. So, we got that going for us.

Ouch!

Well, here in my lettle neck of the woods, we are jittery about your sister agency w/in Interior, the BIA, as well.

Recently, BIA held a hearing about a mile from my house about allowing indian owned lands going into a federal trust status. My local representative said:

"We ask you to take this dog and pony show back to Washington, D.C., with this message: One nation," former Seneca County lawmaker Richard Ricci said to applause. He then led most of the crowd of about 300 into a recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.

So we all got THAT goin for us, too.
